TODAY

An absolutely beautiful day today. 'Yesterday is the past, tomorrow is the future, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.' Wise words of a 3D animated tortoise.

PRACTICE SILHOUETTES

Only 5 days left until uni starts! Noooo...back to the endless cycle of work, assessments, and exams; what fun. Today I helped out at the Red Cross stall at O-Week, which was actually awesome fun. It gives you an excuse to talk to random people, and make friends with near-strangers really (even if you can't remember their names when you get home). Old friends and new ones came around today. Also, I love freebies haha. Seriously, I don't even bother packing a proper lunch when it's O-week - there's free icecream, snowcones, fairyfloss, lollipops and everything good and unhealthy and delicious when companies promote their stuff. Love it! Haha.

Here I am trying my hand at taking silhouette-type photos. The first was actually the side of a building under construction, though after I took it, it looked more like a cemetery lol. The second is of a hanging paper lantern (precursor to CNY's).

And no, I did not see Channing Tatum after all, which was a disappointment. But I did enjoy hearing stories about his appearance (i.e. dousing himself with a can of beer (?)) haha. Got to love uni events.

ARR...ME TATUMS

Arr me hearties...

Watched 'Chronicle' today with my little bro - and it is actually pretty good! It just reaffirmed my love of intense and epic films - i.e. Wanted, Underworld and the Terminator series. To balance things out however, I may be watching The Vow in the near future..haha.

Contemplating whether it's worth/possible lining up tomorrow to see Channing Tatum at UNSW in the FLESH. Aaaaahh! To be more accurate: whether it's worth fighting my way through aggro teenyboppers and small loud people to see him.. slfkjskdfj  ! It's ridiculous, I'm fangirling right now heeheehe.

Signing out (so I can do some real work)

:D

STRANGE GIRL TAKING PHOTOS OF A BUSH

Same place in China, next to the seaside (with the incredible fog, haha). I especially liked how they planted purple flowers over the boulders so they blanketed the rock and kinda spilled over the cliff edge, like a beautiful blossoming bubblegum patch. The strange purple and green cabbage-like plant was also a real looker (really).

Today I had a very good catch-up with two very good (old) friends, whilst eating 2 big baked potatoes (with delicious salsa) and then struggling to finish a gorgeous cocktail glass of green tea and red bean icecream with gelatinous balls. Oh my, oh my, I think I have finally succumbed to the innate Asian love of green tea icecream (already loved red bean flavour, which is simply awesome). I'm salivating slightly while typing this, it was that good.

Icecream, friends and some giant potatoes. Oh, these are the things in life that I truly love. :)

Peace out!

BEFORE THE RAIN

Crazy weather, people. Before the sky turned grey and thundery, I hung around in the backyard for a bit.

Have you noticed how butterflies look kinda freaky close-up? And then you remember those incidents where you see them from afar and think 'Ahh..'..before they flap into your face and it's more like 'AAH' : |

Back! Ages ago, actually, but I had to wait for my cousin (and her camera) to return too. These photos are from our tour in some small Chinese town..ashamed to say I don't quite remember the name, but I'm guessing it's 厦门 from the album name. It's a strange and colourful mix of fob-cutesy boutiques, street food stalls, antique museums and stone paved alleyways. Oh, and there's a dismal-looking beach with Pirates-of-the-Caribbean-esque fog close to the shore, swallowing up the little green boats that dot the sea (poetic).

Speaking of which, I really need to buy a camera of my own..with better focus too. Photos that look crisp in a 2-inch wide screen don't quite look the same in posts, which is sad. :(

Excited for brunch tomorrow with friends, even though this Australian summer has been the most odd, incredibly random and all-over irritating one yet. Yesterday it decided to pour buckets around 2-3 in the arvo, before spraying us with heat and sunshine around 2 hours later. Yepp that's pretty much the pattern this month; so much for beach-time.. -_-

Photos #2 coming tomorrow!

PS. Photos look way better in real size..

LAST MINUTE

Leaving for China and HK today!

To any chums reading this, see you soon in Jan! Going to miss quite a few people here. Sydney really is not Shitney, I quite like it.

Leaving you with a lovely photo, since China has the Great Firewall against FB etc. Keep cool guys and stay safe! :) xx
